In harmony with communities

As a global organization with operations in more than 150 countries and regions, Bridgestone is uniquely positioned to co-create long-term social and customer value in communities around the world.

Bridgestone believes that co-creating value with customers, partners, communities, and employees is essential for sustainable value creation and that building trust is vital in this process.

Recognizing that building trust takes time, Bridgestone believes it is important to do so step-by-step by continuously improving its approach to the challenges and needs of each community through tailored solutions. With the ”Bridgestone E8 Commitment” as an axis. Empowering one another and the community, Bridgestone is committed to building safer, healthier communities and making education more accessible and inclusive for current and future generations.

In 2025, Bridgestone undertook 1,522 initiatives*1 in 31 countries and regions, including 1,246 initiatives with outside partners*2, involving 32,795 employee volunteers*3 and reaching 491,422 people*4 from local communities.

  1. Counting of “initiatives” varies by country or region.
  2. Counting of “partners” varies by country or region.
  3. The number of volunteers is the total number, including estimates for some activities.
  4. The number of people who directly benefited from the activities, which varies by country or region and only includes those activities whose status has been confirmed.

Impact of Bridgestone’s social contribution activities

Since 2023, Bridgestone has taken steps to visualize its social impact, which refers to the “changes that happen to individuals, organizations, and the company, in the short or longer term, as a result of the activity,” as defined in the globally recognized Corporate Community Investment Framework by Business for Societal Impact (B4SI).

Bridgestone’s approach emphasizes both measuring and communicating impact. By combining these two elements, it is able to share tangible outcomes with stakeholders, while continuously improving its activities. Visualizing impact also allows Bridgestone to better understand how these activities contribute to creating social and corporate value, enabling Bridgestone to make more effective decisions and refine its initiatives. Bridgestone focuses in particular on the impact of road safety activities on beneficiaries in the community and on employees.

In 2025, beyond improving individual activities, our impact visualization efforts helped strengthen trust with stakeholders by:
- Driving recognition of our approach among industry peers and community partners
- Enabling connections with new customers and partners beyond our existing businesses
- Fostering employee pride and ownership, reinforcing a culture of contribution and accountability

Furthermore, insights gained through impact visualization have strengthened stakeholder trust and, over the medium to long term, contribute to enhancing corporate value.

Impact on employees

Bridgestone believes that participation in social contribution activities fosters a greater sense of belonging to Bridgestone and the local community among its employees. It also boosts employees’ confidence and pride and improves their well-being. Bridgestone also believes that employees experiencing these benefits will enhance corporate value in the mid to long term. This participation also helps reinforce Bridgestone’s corporate culture by deepening employee pride, ownership, and shared commitment to contributing to society.

Across regions, Bridgestone has promoted employee participation in social contribution activities by fostering environments that encourage engagement. These efforts include employee participation campaigns, the establishment of related policies and goals to support participation, systems that enable employees to take part in a wide range of activities—including those organized by external partners—and leave and sabbatical programs that support participation.

By taking advantage of the characteristics of each region, Bridgestone seeks to promote harmony within the community through employee participation.

Continuing from the previous year, Bridgestone conducted an impact assessment for employees in 2025.
The assessments showed that over 83% of the 2,849 employees surveyed experienced positive changes in the following areas:

  • A sense of belonging to the local community (92%)

“I am very proud, as part of Bridgestone Indonesia, to participate in the Road Safety volunteer activity under our company’s sustainability program. This meaningful initiative allowed me to contribute directly to the community while promoting road safety awareness. It was a valuable opportunity to collaborate, gain insights, and support a safer and more sustainable future.”

Aki Ikedo
Occupational health nurse, General Affairs & Environmental Conservation Section at the Seki Plant

“Guided by the mission of “Serving Society with Superior Quality,” the Seki Plant views the strengths of its people as a form of “quality” and continuously explores meaningful ways to contribute to society.
In accepting nursing trainees, we aim not only to provide them with hands-on learning opportunities in the field of occupational health nursing and help them appreciate the importance of health management for employees, but also to benefit ourselves. The fresh perspectives and flexible ideas the younger generation brings contribute significantly to our health promotion initiatives. Moreover, it is a great joy for us as practitioners to see trainees recognize the appeal and value of occupational health nursing and aspire to become corporate health nurses as their future career path.
Through activities rooted in the local community, we strive to ensure that more people come to recognize Bridgestone’s presence, as well as our commitment to kindness and passion toward people. Even as times change, we will continue to cherish communication with the community and steadily carry forward our efforts, maintaining the strengths and enthusiasm of our people in order to sustain our social contribution activities over the long term.”

Bridgestone is moving ahead with the BRSP under a vision for road safety: “Life is a journey. Let’s make it a safe one.”, while utilizing the playbook, a practical guide for employees to implement road safety initiatives effectively created in collaboration with the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP), an international non-profit organization in the field of road safety.
