Ever since its founding in 1931, guided by our unchanging Mission “Serving Society with Superior Quality,” the Bridgestone Group has been expanding and evolving its business to meet the changing needs of society and continue supporting the mobility and lifestyles of individuals.
Following its “second foundation” in 1988 with the merger of Bridgestone and the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, it positioned 2020 as the first year of the “third foundation” or Bridgestone 3.0. Placing sustainability at the core of management and business, the Group will continue evolving to achieve its vision “Toward 2050, Bridgestone continues to provide social value and customer value as a sustainable solutions company.”

Bridgestone E8 Commitment

In March 2022, to accelerate its transformation to a sustainable solutions company, the Group announced its corporate commitment - the “Bridgestone E8 Commitment” as an axis to drive management while earning the trust of future generations.
For the sake of the Earth, which future generations of children have entrusted in our care, Bridgestone is committed to delivering 8 “Bridgestone-like” values starting with the letter “E” representing both purpose and process, alongside its employees, society, partners and customers to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

Mid-Long Term Business Strategy Framework

The Group’s Mid-Long Term Business Strategy was formulated to realize its vision “Toward 2050, Bridgestone continues to provide social value and customer value as a sustainable solutions company.”
With the Mid Term Business Plan formulated every 3 years starting from 2021 as its concrete execution plan, Bridgestone is pushing the Mid-Long Term Business Strategy from framework to execution.

2030 Long Term Strategic Aspiration

In August 2022, the Group presented its “2030 Long Term Strategic Aspiration” where it outlines its roadmap toward 2031, the company’s 100th anniversary.
Under the mission “Serving Society with Superior Quality”, vision “Toward 2050, Bridgestone continues to provide social value and customer value as a sustainable solutions company” and with the “Bridgestone E8 Commitment” as its axis and guiding vectors, the Group is aiming to become a “resilient ‘excellent’ Bridgestone” that is robust and flexible like rubber, capable of transforming change to opportunity in the ever-changing business environment.
