The Bridgestone Group Awards represent the highest level of recognition within the organization. All Group entities and employees are eligible for the Awards. The global management team reviews projects which have committed to realize the Group's vision and Mid-Long Term Business Strategy, and select the most outstanding global initiatives among them to honor their achievements and efforts. Sharing the outstanding initiatives through the Bridgestone Group Awards not only cultivates employee pride, but also plays an important role in raising awareness and fostering a sense of unity among all employees. In this way, the Bridgestone Group Awards amplifies the expansion of each employee’s various initiatives to realize eight Bridgestone-like values stated in the “Bridgestone E8 Commitment”, which will expand sustainably like a ripple effect.

The Bridgestone Group Awards 2021 were comprised of four categories: Solutions for Sustainability Business, Value Creation for Society, Value Creation for Customers and Management Fundamentals. Seven projects were presented, including the Honor Award (Special Award).

Bridgestone as a Sustainable Partner: Material Circularity Pioneering Project with OEM Partner

The team has been working on the development of tires that achieve a high material circularity, superior driving dynamics and A label rolling resistance at the same time, together with an OEM partner. Sustainability is one of the top priority topics in all industries, especially in automotive. On top of electrification, raw materials sourcing is becoming more important, focusing on maximizing renewable and recycled materials. This project contributes to promoting co-creation of sustainable mobility as a global leading company in the tire industry.

Bridgestone Tire Sales Vietnam Limited Liability Company

HR group collaborated with Marketing, Sales, and other different function departments in organising 6 CSR activities (e.g., bridge building, flood donation etc.), to engage with customers and solving community concerns at the same time.
It is a particularly good example of fostering team spirit through activities proposed by the team members themselves by involving various stakeholders such as communities and business partners. Even under COVID-19, it showed that we can increase employee engagement and contribute to society.

Teammates are working to contribute to customers and the global environment through the retread tire business, with the aim of realizing a sustainable society in which children of the future can live in good health. At the workplace, “valuing employees" and "teamwork" are served as common values. Intensive efforts are being made to create workplace where teammates can work with enthusiasm, in the perspectives of management, human resource development, personnel & labor system, culture, communication and customer satisfaction.
These activities have been highly evaluated, including receiving awards from outside the company. BRM continues to pursue realization of sustainability in all aspects of the business.

Acceleration of Mining Solution with New Dan-Totsu Product : “BRIDGESTONE MASTERCORE” Development.

Bridgestone‘s best-in-class mining tire, MasterCore is the foundation of the company’s mining solutions business. This new Dan-Totsu product features a new casing design for improved durability and increased productivity. It is engineered for ultra-high durability with a combination of unique technologies including a new type of steel cord, other advanced materials, structures and process engineering.
Mine operations vary depending on customers, mine sites and haul routes. Bridgestone designed MasterCore to be customizable in various performance attributes such as speeds, payload and uptime. This improves productivity and efficiency and maximizes value for each customer.

Global Expansion of TPMS Solution with WEBFLEET & Tirematics as Digital Platforms

Global teammates came together to co-create a TPMS solution powered by Tirematics. This digital offering, combined with Bridgestone service footprint and the WEBFLEET platform, supports customers to maximize their fleet performance while minimizing costs.
Insufficient tire management can adversely affect customer’s safety and finances. Particularly, underinflated tires raise the risk of failure, shortened tire life, unnecessary fuel consumption, and CO₂ emissions increase. TPMS solutions contribute to society and customer value on safety, environment, economics and productivity by supporting fleet safety, efficient operation and fuel efficiency.

Management Fundamentals: One Winner

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Strategy Foundations and “Free to Be” Campaign

Bridgestone Americas, Inc.

The team provided a sustainable long-term DE&I strategic framework and developed a movement among teammates called “Free to Be.” The campaign is to create a safe space where all teammates are enabled to be their true self in the workplace, workforce and marketplace by encouraging inclusiveness. DE&I is part of our DNA and embedded in our business strategy. The project started in North America are now expanded to Latin America as well. This ongoing DE&I effort will reach beyond our walls to impact our customers, our communities and society.
