The Global Sustainability Committee (GSC) that reports to the Global Executive Committee (Global EXCO), the highest-level committee overseeing the Bridgestone Group’s business strategy and execution, is responsible for organizing the Bridgestone Group’s Sustainability Framework and holistically leading the design and implementation of sustainability initiatives. The Committee includes working groups of cross-functional, cross-regional leaders from throughout the Group, working on each of the key themes and reporting on its progress and plans to the GSC at least quarterly.

The Joint Global COO, who sits as the chair of the GSC, directs the Group’s sustainability strategy and advances the GSC’s recommendations to the Global EXCO. Other committees that report sustainability issues to Global EXCO include the Global Sustainability Business Committee (GSBC) and the Global Quality Management Committee (GQMC). GSBC is a committee that realizes Bridgestone’s Circular Economy aspirations through establishment and execution of global strategy with a focus on recycling business. The GQMC works to strengthening global governance around the deployment of its quality mission and initiatives in each SBU. The Group's sustainability initiatives are reported to the Board of Directors.
