Tokyo (October 22, 2026) - Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone) today announced the BATTLAX ADVENTURE A42, a motorcycle tire in the adventure category launching January 1, 2027 ^*1. Under the concept of "The answer to the road going Adventurers," BATTLAX ADVENTURE A42 is designed to deliver the best balance of safety, peace of mind, economy and comfort for adventure riders who primarily ride on-road. From city streets to expressways and winding roads, the tire achieves an optimal balance of wet performance and wear life at a high level while reducing tire noise when riding, supporting a comfortable long-distance touring.

In recent years, adventure motorcycles have been recognized for their versatility, from city riding to long-distance trips. In the European market, demand for tires in this category has increased by 45% over the past decade^*2. In this market, on-road riders make up the majority, and there is strong demand for wet performance that delivers peace of mind even in sudden rain, as well as enhanced wear resistance and comfort for long-distance touring. The predecessor, BATTLAX ADVENTURE A41, has been well received as an adventure motorcycle tire designed primarily for on-road riding. While retaining the strengths of its predecessor, BATTLAX ADVENTURE A42 further enhances wet performance, wear life and tire noise reduction in on-road touring across a wide range of riding scenes, from city streets to expressways and winding roads. For wet performance, it reduces the tire slip ratio under straight-line acceleration by 14% compared to the previous model, contributing to stable riding even in sudden rain. Wear life is improved by 18% at the front and 25% at the rear, enabling riders to enjoy long-distance touring with less concern about wear. Furthermore, it reduces tire noise by 15% compared to the previous model, contributing to more comfortable long-distance touring^*3.

1. New Compound
   The front tire compound uses a flexible polymer to enhance road-surface tracking, while the rear tire compound uses a polymer that improves wear resistance. By optimizing the silica and carbon content for each, the tire delivers an optimal balance of wet performance and wear life.
2. New Pattern Design
   Inheriting the design lineage of the latest BATTLAX lineup ^*4, the tire features an aggressive yet refined new tread pattern suited to adventure motorcycles. In addition to incorporating "Pulse Groove" technology ^*5, which enhances water drainage, the tire optimizes pattern stiffness through a revised groove layout to improve the overall balance of wet performance, wear life, and quietness.
