New Delhi, August 4, 2026 - Bridgestone India, a group company of Bridgestone Corporation, Japan, commemorated 30 years of operations in India. Bridgestone Corporation has placed importance on expanding its business overseas since its founding, starting with its entry into the Asian market. Today, the company is engaged in supplying high-quality products and establishing business activities rooted in local communities in more than 150 countries around the world. Bridgestone India held a commemorative ceremony with key stakeholders in New Delhi, recognising the invaluable contributions of its partners who have been instrumental in the company's growth journey.
The milestone celebration was graced by H.E. Mr. ONO Keiichi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India & the Kingdom of Bhutan, who attended the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event brought together distinguished representatives from leading global automotive manufacturers, supplier partners, industry leaders and eminent government delegates, all of whom were honoured for their longstanding partnership with and support for Bridgestone.
Marking three decades of commitment to India, the event underscored Bridgestone India's enduring focus on innovation, safety, quality, sustainability and customer-centric mobility solutions. It also served as a platform to celebrate the strong ecosystem of stakeholders whose collaboration has fuelled the company's growth and enabled it to contribute meaningfully to India's automotive growth story.
Bridgestone's journey in India began with the commencement of its operations in 1996, followed by the start of local manufacturing in 1998 at its first facility in Pithampur, Dhar District, Madhya Pradesh. Over the past three decades, Bridgestone India has evolved into a significant pillar of the Bridgestone Group's global operations, serving customers across the country through advanced manufacturing, a robust distribution network and a steadfast commitment to delivering premium products and solutions.
The celebration reflected Bridgestone India's vision of building a sustainable mobility future while strengthening partnerships across the automotive value chain. As the company enters its next phase of growth, it remains focused on delivering advanced tyre technologies and mobility solutions that support safer, more efficient and more sustainable transportation.

Local manufacturing began in 1998 at the Pithampur plant, which became the foundation of Bridgestone's manufacturing presence in India. Over the years, the company has steadily expanded its footprint, strengthened local manufacturing capabilities in 2013 with a new plant in Chakan, Pune, and built a trusted brand known for innovation and customer-focused offerings. Today, Bridgestone serves millions of Indian customers across passenger, commercial, and specialty tyre segments.
In 2025, Bridgestone India established a Satellite Technology Centre at its Pune plant to strengthen the development of "Dan-Totsu"*1 products. This new centre reinforces and accelerates the company's technology development capabilities, covering the entire engineering chain from material planning to product research, design, and manufacturing for the Indian market.
