The photovoltaic panel has been gaining great attention as a viable source of clean and renewable energy.
Bridgestone's “EVASKY™” ,born from development technology of rubber tire, shows high reliability and establishes worldwide reputation in the photovoltaic panel market.

Photovoltaic panels must sustain up to 25 years of peak generation performance in a highly challenging exposed environment. EVA, Ethylene Vinyl Acetate, copolymer film is an essential sealant of photovoltaic solar modules for ensuring the reliability and performance.
From the early 1980's, Bridgestone's extensive research in polymer and chemical blending technology produced the special EVA material that is optically clear and impervious to water. Beginning in 1987, Bridgestone unveiled the revolutionary “EVASKY™” film and has continuously improved on its performance adjust to photovoltaic panels since ever. The reliability of EVASKY™ has been proven all over the world.
The photovoltaic panel depends on each customer (photovoltaic solar module manufacturer) in the material manufacturing, and the application technology. Then, Bridgestone always pays visits to the customers and confirms their material, their production method, and their targeted market and propose the most suitable products to meet with their requirement after evaluation of durability, transparency, adhesion, and etc.
In addition, Bridgestone is seriously engaged in developing new adhesion technology which will contribute to longer productivity of photovoltaic panel. As a result, the customers can achieve higher productivity in manufacturing process and longer durability owing to Bridgestone's EVASKY™.
Bridgestone's EVASKY™ is appreciated by the customers worldwide.

Polymer and chemical materials selection and blending know how to realize various functions comes from Bridgestone's original compound technology accumulated during the process and the experience of development of rubber tire.
In addition to its advanced polymer technology, EVASKY™ utilizes state-of-the-art blending production technology for consistently high quality.
Bridgestone continues to improve the performance of EVASKY™, promotes the spread of clean and renewable energy worldwide very actively, and contributes to the reduction of carbon dioxide to reduce “Global Warming”.
Chemical and Industrial Product Division
R&D Center (Yokohama)
Bridgestone is introducing photovoltaic panel systems to improve energy efficiency in our business units and as a part of our activities to reduce carbon dioxide.
As part of this commitment, Bridgestone has installed over 1,000 photovoltaic panels in the research and development center of our diversified products divisions in Yokohama city in Japan. These panels generate up to 64 kilowatts--enough to operate 1500 40-watt fluorescent lamps.
Bridgestone uses electricity generated by photovoltaic panels for the lighting and air conditioning of our plants.
Plans for installing more photovoltaic panels in other business units are underway now.
